The Houston Astros have selected SS Alex Bregman with the 2nd overall pick in the 2015 MLB Draft.

A New Mexico product, Bregman ranked as one of the best pure high school hitters in the 2012 Draft, but slid to the Red Sox in the 29th round because of his steadfast commitment to Louisiana State. The consensus national freshman of the year in 2013, he’s now one of the top bats in this year’s college crop.
