HOUSTON — The off-field drama continues to outpace the on-field performance for the Colts this year.
A particularly strange week continued Saturday with the announcement veteran cornerback Vontae Davis did not make the trip to Houston for Sunday's game.
A team release stated only that Davis' absence was not injury related.
Several reports citing anonymous sources later suggested the two-time Pro Bowler was seeking further treatment for a groin injury that sidelined him for the first three weeks of the season.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport on his Twitter account suggested Davis still is feeling effects from the injury and simply "needs some time to get himself back to feeling normal.
